Bull Run Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Haymarket, Virginia.
Bull Run Golf Club first opened for play in 1998. The course was designed by Rick Jacobson
This course is located at the base of a mountain and offers a variety of golf holes. Water hazards, in the form of lakes, ponds, waste areas, and small water hazards come into play on seven holes. Most fairways are open and tree lined. The fairway landing areas are generous off the tee. The greens are regarded as small for a course of this type. The front and back nines are very similar, the only difference is that the front nine features a few forced carries.
Rick Jacobson designed this course with the player in mind. From the back tees, the course at Bull Run Golf Club is difficult enough to challenge the best hitters, especially if the greens are set with some tough pin locations. There are also wide fairways here with excellent views of where your next shot is supposed to land and there are often run-up options to the greens even where the hazards look tricky.
The Bull Run Golf Course measures 6,979 yards from the back tees and plays to a par of 72. The course rating is 73.1 with a slope rating of 134.

Since the course has changed ownership it has improved over 100%. The course has one of the best vistas in Northern VA. Several holes hold special challenges and unique. (18th)

Golf in March! This is a bonus on any course and this one played very well even though it is still recovering from the winter. Greens were a little bumpy but fairly true. In very good shape for the time of year. I look forward to playing it after the spring growth has taken hold.

Big target areas from tees once you get past the forced carries. Pace of play not monitored or enforced, so if it slows down it gets bad. Saturday mornings rarely a problem. Nice club house amenities.

Much work has been done over the past two years to really make this an enjoyable course to play. Our group plays there two to three times a month. Number 18 is by far the best "risk/reward" hole of all the courses we play.
